PHP includes group therapy, individual counseling, psychoeducation, care coordination, mindfulness, relapse prevention, and more—all designed to stabilize recovery while supporting independence.
What are aftercare options following a PHP?
After completing PHP, most clients step down to an ASAM Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Outpatient Counseling. Clients may also continue engaging with Journey House Foundation’s Recovery Community Organization (RCO), Peer Recovery Support Services, or supportive housing through Journey House Recovery Residences.

Candidates may have mild to moderate withdrawal symptoms, a strong support system at home, and need more structure than standard outpatient treatment but less intensity than inpatient rehab. PHPs are often a strong option for people in early recovery seeking structured addiction treatment.
