A Continuum of Care
Our Guiding Principles
At Journey House Recovery Center, we recognize that recovery is more than abstaining from substances. It is about creating a healthier, more meaningful life. Our guiding principles shape every program and provide a foundation for lasting recovery. From peer-to-peer support and family healing to finding meaningful work, we believe recovery thrives when it is built on purpose, connection, and hope.
1. Peer-to-Peer Recovery Support
The Power of Shared Experience
We believe the power of helping another is essential to recovery from substance use disorder, including drug and alcohol addiction. Our peer recovery specialists are trained, compassionate people who have achieved long-term recovery themselves. They understand the cravings, struggles, and challenges of substance use disorder in ways only lived experience can provide.
Building Connection Through Peer Mentors
We offer peer mentors who develop relationships based on understanding, accountability, and hope. This one-on-one connection ensures no one walks their recovery journey alone.
Tracking Progress with Purpose
We use recovery software to identify where each participant is in their recovery journey. This allows us to adjust support strategies as recovery needs evolves.
Your Recovery is Our Priority
The Journey House Recovery Center provides a safe, supportive environment where participants can heal from the wounds that fueled their substance use. We are committed to helping each participant develop coping skills, build resilience, and put recovery first so they can move forward into a healthier,
thriving life.
2. Believing in a Power Greater Than Ourselves
At Journey House, we recognize that many people turn to substances as a way to cope with life’s challenges, stress, or trauma. Lasting recovery begins when we learn new ways to face those challenges, often by leaning on a power greater than ourselves.
We know that beliefs differ, and we welcome all paths
For some, that power may be spiritual or religious; for others, it may be found in community, nature, or simply the collective strength of peers in recovery. We encourage finding a source of hope and guidance beyond the self.
Our role is to help participants connect with their own higher power, whatever that may look like, as a foundation for healing. Through this process, our participants discover resilience, begin to let go of old patterns, and move toward a life of recovery, redemption, and transformation.
3. Family Support in Recovery
Addiction and substance use affects not only the individual, but also It can impact the entire family. At Journey House Recovery Center, we understand the importance of healing relationships and rebuilding trust as part of the recovery process.
Our staff provide guidance and tools to help participants and their families:
- Set healthy boundaries
- Communicate more effectively
- Support one another through challenges
- Identify resources to support understanding and recovery
Family Healing in Recovery
By fostering understanding and connection, we help transform stories of substance use disorder into stories of redemption, resilience, and renewed personal connections.
4. Giving Back to the Community
We believe recovery grows stronger when it is shared. We encourage our participants to give back through service, storytelling, and community involvement. By sharing their experiences, they not only inspire others but also build resilience, develop life skills, and strengthen their own recovery.
Service Builds Strength
Service work helps participants shift “out of self and into others.” Whether volunteering, mentoring, or speaking about their recovery journey, our participants learn the value of connection, compassion, and accountability.
Building Relationships & Reducing Stigma
We work to connect participants with the broader community, fostering relationships that provide support, friendship, and hope. This outreach helps reduce the stigma of addiction while encouraging open dialogue about recovery.
