Meet Karleen Overmann, Outreach & Business Development Coordinator for Journey House Behavioral Health. Karleen joined the Journey House team because she deeply believes in the heart behind the organization’s mission. From the moment she walked through the doors, she recognized Journey House as a place that genuinely cares about helping individuals rebuild their lives and thrive in recovery, not simply overcome substance use. She brings a background in community outreach, peer support, leadership, and wellness coaching.
Karleen is also the Founder and Executive Director of Virginia Fentanyl & Substance Awareness (VFSA), where she works to provide awareness, education, and support to families impacted by substance use and mental health challenges. Throughout her career, she has served as a leader for more than 300 coaches, worked as a lifestyle coach, and built a million-dollar wellness business, developing extensive experience in leadership, networking, and service to others.
She holds her PRS (Peer Recovery Specialist) certification, completed coursework toward her LPN degree, and has experience supporting families as they navigate behavioral health systems. Outside of work, Karleen enjoys dancing, cooking Italian food, walking, and personal development. She is also a proud mother of three, grandmother to one grandson, and excited to welcome another grandbaby soon.
